Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay, Dubai has appointed Torsten Obermann as the new General Manager to lead the cosmopolitan 5-star hotel. Torsten has taken over from Stephen Meredith who has assumed the role of General Manager of Steigenberger Hotel for the past two years.
Torsten has an incredible 27 years of hospitality and F&B experience that has seen him work for many respected international brands across Europe, United States and the Middle East. Some of his notable career roles include Area General Manager at JA Resorts & Hotels, Dubai, where he directed the entire operation and strategic direction of two properties; Executive Assistant Manager at JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort, Dubai, where he supervised three department heads with a total of 180 employees and brought new energy and attention to detail to ensure great guest satisfaction; Director of Room Division at The Dolder Grand, Zurich, Switzerland, where he managed all pre-opening room division functions. Developed different operations concept and standard operating procedures.
His business qualifications include an Hospitality Management Diploma, Wihoga (Hospitality Industry Management School) in Dortmund, Germany, which helped him to develop his career with a clear vision to develop strategic business plans that deliver results sustainably, profitably and responsibly.
