Dubai’s Most Anticipated Luxury Hotel ME Dubai Launches On 1st March 2020

February 2020 – Dubai’s most anticipated design led, luxury hotel will open its doors on Sunday 1st March 2020.  ME Dubai will take residence in The Opus by Omniyat building, located in the heart of the Burj Khalifa district in Dubai – the latest outstanding addition to Dubai’s iconic skyline.

This is the first and last hotel where the Iraqi-British architect has designed both the exterior and interior of the hotel, making ME Dubai her legacy project. Hadid was famous for her intensely futuristic architecture, characterized by curves, sharp angles and bold materials and the ME Dubai hotel is no exception.

The hotel boasts 74 rooms and 19 suites (including the Passion Suite, Personality Suite, Vibe Room and the ultra-luxurious ‘ME Suite’). With awe-inspiring originality, Hadid’s design reinvents the balance between solid and void, opaque and transparent, interior and exterior. The Opus itself spans 2,000,000 square feet, comprising of two separate towers that connect in the form of a cube and featuring a ‘carved’ central void, which appears to hover above the ground. The centre of the building provides unexpected and dramatic views of the exterior. During the day, The Opus is a luminous surface, reflecting the dazzling Dubai sun, with the LED lighting highlighting the vivid character of the building in the evening.

The property will feature signature furniture throughout the lobby, lounges and reception areas, all of which was either designed or personally selected by Zaha Hadid. Guests and visitors can choose from three owned F&B outlets, including Central, the Refuel & Relax pool bar and The Opus Studio. In addition, the Opus building will offer 15 F&B outlets including ROKA, the contemporary Japanese robatayaki restaurant, as well as MAINE Land Brasserie. The spa at ME Dubai provides guests the ultimate refuge for relaxation, offering a variety of luxurious spa treatments for indiviuals or couples to unwind.

Welcoming bookings from 1st March, ME Dubai will act as a platform for contemporary Middle Eastern culture, bringing together music, art, design, fashion and gastronomy in curated experiences that celebrate the latest trends, events and scene leaders shaping the local cultural landscape. With properties located in cultural capitals around the world, ME by Meliá creates a unique link to the communities in which it operates.

As the brand’s first Middle Eastern property, ME Dubai is not only set to become the social and cultural epicentre of Dubai, but also a contemporary luxury hotel with a tangible commitment to sustainability. The property aims to raise the bar on sustainable practices for hotel operations in the city in line with the UAE’s Vision 2021, to be among the world’s leading countries prioritising evolving sustainable development while preserving the environment.

Initiatives being introduced across the hotel’s operations include a partnership with UAE-based company, "No More Bottles" to install world-class drinking water filtration systems throughout the hotel. All rooms will be stocked with pure, filtered water in glass bottles, demonstrating ME Dubai’s commitment to being entirely plastic-free and reducing its carbon footprint.

Reservations are now open through Meliá Hotels International’s official reservation site, as well as major online travel platforms Booking.com, Hotels.com and Agoda.com.
