JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is pleased to announce a new Director of Food & Beverage: Demian Fuentes. Demian joins the hotel from Grand Hyatt Muscat in Oman, where he oversaw six restaurants, four bars and large banquet operations, as well as outside catering. Prior to joining the Hyatt, Demian work in Dubai, developing and launching the new Terrace at Burj al Arab. His career has taken him to the United States, Australia, Mexico and the Middle East since 2012. Working in Fairmont the Palm, Grosvenor House and W Hotel in Doha, Demian is looking forward to returning to Dubai and the challenge of working in such a competitive, fast paced city again.
An avid wine lover, as wine was one of the things that has ever caught his eye when he started working in hospitality industry, Demian did an extensive study on wines and since 2004 has completed a variety of certifications from different organizations, including The Court of Master Sommeliers, The Mexican Sommelier Association and Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Demian is passionate about sports and a big fan of Federer and America (Mexican Football Team). He is a passionate reader, particularly on the topics of history and politics. He describes his greatest achievement as being a father to two boys: Patricio and Gabriel.
