Barcelo Hotel Group Officially Launches Occidental Sharjah Grand Following 15 Million Dirhams Rebrand

United Arab Emirates, March 2019: The onset of 2019 saw the official rebrand of the iconic Sharjah Grand Hotel, to the Occidental Sharjah Grand. The opening further cements Barceló Hotel Group’s aim of expanding its presence in the Gulf Region.

Jaime Buxó, Chief Development Officer at Barceló Hotel Group commented, “We’re excited to continue building our Occidental brand in the region, as this property joins the recently launched Occidental IMPZ Dubai, Conference & Events Centre. We wanted to elevate the offering of the property, especially given that it is a popular spot for residents as well as travellers”. He goes on to add, “The beach front resort makes the most of its prime location, with the close proximity to renowned landmarks, which when coupled with the elegant rebrand, promises for a unique stay in the cultural capital of the UAE”.

The rebrand saw the traditional allure of the dry hotel make way for a more open contemporary style of hospitality. The upgrade extends from the sleek new lobby and retail space, to the in-house restaurant with upgraded show kitchens and dining space. A dedicated bar will serve to keep sport enthusiasts up to date with all the live action from the screens, whilst enjoying delicious nibbles and freshly concocted mocktails and juices.

Rich interiors were given a modern make over, with the hotel now making use of a fresh colour palette and complemented by the abundance of natural light.

Other amenities have also stood to benefit from the rebrand, including the beachfront, where new lounge spaces equipped with luxurious upgraded deck furnishing awaits guests. Providing visitors with all day access to the beaches, water sports and a plethora of child friendly activity, makes the hotel a prime option for those looking for a family friendly getaway.
