A Rising Culinary Force: Commis Chef Amrit Maharjan Honored for Skill, Passion, and Bright Professional Potential

Amrit Maharjan from Dubai World Trade Centre won Silver Young Chef of the Year in the Middle East Chef Excellence Awards 2026

Nurturing ambitious young talent is crucial to maintaining the dynamic momentum and high standards of the region's culinary industry. At the 9th Middle East Chef Excellence Awards 2026, the competitive search for the best young chefs under 28 years old drew stunning recipe submissions from across the Middle East.

Out of all the complex recipes sent, only 16 elite young talents were shortlisted by the Emirates Culinary Guild for a high-stakes live cook-off at the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) Dubai. Following rigorous scrutiny by the expert Emirates Culinary Guild judges, an exclusive group of just 5 finalist chefs were selected to cook live at the grand gala ceremony.

Rising through this intense competitive field, Amrit Maharjan, Commis Chef at Dubai World Trade Centre, earned prominent industry recognition by winning the prestigious Silver Young Chef of the Year award and taking home a coveted winner's trophy.

Navigating the high-volume, fast-paced environment of a premier global convention hub requires sharp focus and absolute precision under pressure.

Amrit has consistently stood out for his stellar work ethic and technical agility, solidifying his exciting future as one of the region’s premier next-generation kitchen leaders.
