The way we holiday has massively changed over the years, resulting in more people not purely looking to sit on a beach with a book for a week, nor looking to constantly be on their feet, exploring a new city, cuisine and culture. 2019 is all about balance, and thanks to the recent collaboration between The Siam in Bangkok and Samujana in Koh Samui, you can now experience a bit of both.
With over 5 flights daily from across the GCC to Bangkok, The Siam provides the ideal starting point for any great adventure. Set on three acres of verdant frontage along the city side of the Chao Praya River, the 39-room private urban retreat was designed by internationally acclaimed architect Bill Bensley, giving his future guests an array of superlative amenities at their fingertips. The resort is spacious and stylish, separating it from other city hotels – its so far removed in fact, you feel like you could be anywhere in the world. It is clear to see a huge effort has been made to offer guests complete privacy and a unique experience.
The Siam features 39 of the capital's most spacious suites and pool villas as well as a historical Thai House - Connie’s Cottage. All rooms are kitted out with plush furnishings, super-sized king beds and lofty ceilings with large bathrooms and stylish tubs. Artwork takes pride of place on the walls, whilst dark furnishings fill the room, abiding by the same luxury theme that is apparent throughout the hotel. With three dining options, there is something for everyone whilst Opium Spa offers a haven of calm.
After 48 hours in the bustling streets of Bangkok, an hours’ flight will take you directly to the shores of Koh Samui, one of Thailand’s most picture perfect islands. Conceived as an extension of the surrounding landscape, the luxury collection of villas known as Samujana offers uniquely built spaces and extraordinary experiences that make use of every natural feature available on the island including large rock outcrops and mature trees, both of which are integrated into the design of the properties. The collection of 24 villas are perfectly perched on a hillside overlooking a coral cove, all offering spectacular sea views. Each individual villa has an open and spacious living area, naturally ventilated and covered terraces orientated to views and giving access directly to infinity edge swimming pools. With villa roofs featuring garden planters, reflecting pools and natural rocks, Samujana stays allows guests and owners to escape from their daily routine and immerse into a fun environment with liberty to truly relax.
There are plenty of food options at Samujana, where the team believes in variety. With all villas offering a fully-stocked mini bar and wine fridge, guests can choose from a diverse choice of dining options and for those who want to explore the rest of the island, the Villa Managers are always on hand to help book the best and most authentic restaurants. For those who’d like to explore Samui, there are many activities to enjoy. Water lovers can book a half or full day island cruise on-board Samujana’s luxury catamaran: Kindred Spirit. With options to sail to Koh Phangan for lunch on the beach or just sail around Samui to explore secret coves, anything is possible on Kindred Spirit. Private or group SCUBA excursions to Koh Tao can also be arranged on request.
Renowned for offering the highest service standards as well as opening the door to every sort of experience, both Samujana’s Villa Managers and The Siam’s Butlers are an integral part of the journey. Whether providing an insight into local life and culture or enhancing their culinary offering, the helping hands are highly trained and largely local, ready to impart their knowledge with genuine passion and expert flair.
