Barcelo Hotel Group Announces New Vice President Sales & Marketing at Barcelo Gulf

Ahmad Shaban Fernandez appointed Vice President Sales & Marketing for Barceló Gulf, partner of Barceló Hotel Group in the Middle East, to lead commercial operations, expanding brand presence in the region

Barceló Hotel Group has appointed Ahmad Shaban Fernandez as Vice President Sales & Marketing at Barceló Gulf. The Jordanian-Spanish national possesses experience in regional and local markets, through his previous assignments with Marriott Hotels International, Rotana Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group and Melia Hotels International.

His role at Barceló Gulf, partner of Barceló Hotel Group in the Middle East, includes establishing commercial targets for the entirety of the region and developing strategic plans based on the brand’s long-term objectives.

Fernandez acquired his business acumen through achieving a BA in Economics at Amman Private University in Jordan, and throughout the assignments he previously served around the region. His most recent UAE based roles include Regional Head of Sales Middle East & Africa at Rotana Hotels Management Corp, and Regional Director of Sales & Marketing – MEA at Melia Hotels International.
