Finally, here are a handful of tips for managers who must discipline employees:
1-Don’t discuss the discipline session with other employees. It could be a violation of the employee’s privacy rights and you will lose credibility with employees if you talk about things that should be confidential.
2-Check with the human resources department before scheduling a discipline discussion. Some companies want two representatives present.
3 -If an employee complains of harassment, check with the human resources department before giving out discipline. It may be necessary to consult a lawyer.
4-If a discipline session results in improved employee performance, don’t hesitate to congratulate the employee on his or her success. And congratulate yourself on your success.

Permalink Reply by Bipul Kumar on December 10, 2011 at 23:14 It goes with all the managers and supervisors, when conducting any discipline session couple of more things need to be kept in mind
1. One or two colleague to be accompanied (If possible same nationality or gender of the employee)
2. It has to be written down and signed by both (Employee and supervisor or manager) and a copy to be given to the employee.
